DESCRIPTION:Traditional family worship\, with a twist!\nWe offer a typical church service for those who are used to church and want to learn more about what it means to live in the Kingdom of God\, but it is also a little different.  We believe that our community is part of our church\, and that having time together is important to our Christian growth and discipleship\, so we include coffee and conversation in our ‘church service’.  Our music style ranges between traditional hymns and more modern church music. The service includes communion each week and Sunday School operates during school term times. Typically\, the service runs for between 1 hour and 1 ¼ hours.  Real coffee and real friendship is served before and after the service. \nWe start at 9:30 am with a cuppa – we’d love to see you there! \nDue to Coronavirus (COVID-19) government restrictions on social gatherings\, face-to-face Sunday Worship will not be held until the start of July.  Audio of our replacement pre-recorded service has been available from Sunday 29 March\, while video of our pre-recorded services has been available since Easter.  Contact the Church Office for details of how to receive a copy.

DESCRIPTION:Traditional family worship\, with a twist!\nWe offer a typical church service for those who are used to church and want to learn more about what it means to live in the Kingdom of God\, but it is also a little different.  We believe that our community is part of our church\, and that having time together is important to our Christian growth and discipleship\, so we include coffee and conversation in our ‘church service’.  Our music style ranges between traditional hymns and more modern church music. The service includes communion each week and Sunday School operates during school term times. Typically\, the service runs for between 1 hour and 1 ¼ hours.  Real coffee and real friendship is served before and after the service. \nWe start at 9:30 am with a cuppa – we’d love to see you there! \nDue to Coronavirus (COVID-19) government restrictions on social gatherings\, face-to-face Sunday Worship will not be held until the start of July.  Audio of our replacement pre-recorded service has been available from Sunday 29 March\, while video of our pre-recorded services has been available since Easter.  Contact the Church Office for details of how to receive a copy.

SUMMARY:Sunday Worship - 90th Anniversary Service
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Our Past\, Our Present and Our Future\nOn Sunday 29 December 2019\, present and past members of Victor Harbor Church of Christ\, along with family and friends\, will gather to celebrate 90 years of faithful service to the Lord in the Victor Harbor community. While the church was actually founded early in 1929\, we have chosen 29 December as the date for our celebration to coincide with a parallel anniversary of 80 years (and one day) since the foundation stone was laid for our current chapel at 9 Seaview Road. \nOur planned activities on the day will comprise three distinct parts\, each acknowledging a different aspect of our journey as a church family. \n1.  Thanksgiving Worship Service in the Chapel: At our regular service\, we will gather at 9.30am over coffee for a 10am start\, concluding by 11.30am.  The service will include acknowledgement of past church activities\, while also praying a blessing over our annual thanksgiving contribution to Scripture Union’s Beach Mission at Victor Harbor. \n2.  Community Service Lunch at Teralba: From 11.30am to 1pm we will adjourn to the rear of Teralba Community Centre (which is our adjacent property) for a BBQ Lunch and some reflection on past\, present and future community services provided by our church to the Victor Harbor community.  A $5 donation to cover the meal would be appreciated. \n3.  Afternoon Fellowship in the Church Hall: From 1pm to 3pm we will join other visitors for a time of fellowship and reflection (and afternoon tea!) in the church hall\, including amusing anecdotes and interviews with a number of our long serving church family members.  A rolling display of church activities will feature many faces from the past.  A gold coin donation to cover afternoon tea would be appreciated. \nAttendance at any or all of the events is welcome.  An RSVP is requested if you plan to attend the lunch or open house afternoon fellowship activity\, for catering purposes.  Please advise Betty Greaves via email to church@vhcoc.org or telephone the church office on 08 8552 5029\, if possible not later than 23 December.
